Yes, Virginia, we want another party to be in charge when the mid-year elections are over in November. But Chuck Schumer and Rahm Emmanuel want to make sure that this doesn't happen, because while they are in charge and the Democrats are the minority, they can continue to line their coiffers and act like they're being effective elected officials.

From my friend, Brassmask:

Look, this is just sick. Dean is spreading the money around and attempting to build the party and Schumer and Emanuel are peeved because he's eroding their power as kingmakers. They are cowards. Schumer is the guy that TOLD you you must vote for Ford, Jr.

Or this:

Storm Brewing Among Democrats

According to the New York Times, tension is building between DNC chairman Howard Dean and Democratic congressional leaders. “Dean was elected chairman of the Democratic National Committee on an unusual promise: To send millions of dollars in contributions to build up state Democratic parties, even in states that vote solidly Republican." Dean "has done precisely that. But the policy that has defined his tenure -- while delighting state Democratic chairmen -- has embroiled him in a battle with the two Congressional Democrats leading the effort to retake Congress this fall.”

In a "heated meeting" last week, Rep. Rahm Emanuel (D-IL) and Sen. Charles Schumer (D-NY) "challenged Mr. Dean on his 50-state program, saying it was undercutting Democratic hopes of taking back the House and the Senate, Democrats said. They warned that Mr. Dean was squandering an opportunity by sending money to parties in states that are a long way from becoming Democratic.”

The DLC Democrats are still drunk on Clinton Kool-Aid and still re-living 1992; the last time the Democrats won anything MAJOR.

You would think after 12 years of Rethug rule in Congress, Schumer and Emmanuel would want to try something else for a different result. Like Howard Dean's 50-state strategy which brings traditional Rethug territory into play and gives marginalized Democrats in those states a voice.

For these yahoos to keep trying to foister closet Rethugs like Harold Ford on us in an effort to take back the Senate for the Democrats...I'm wondering what they will say if they get Ford that Senate seat and he officially goes Rethug out of the closet...because that's their strategy and we aren't buying it.

Does Chuck Schumer knows how a knife in his back will feel? Well, at least he has health care to pay for the treatment once Ford shivs him when he goes Rethug. In fact, I'm not going to put all of this on Ford; Lieberman will be the next to go Rethug if he doesn't get his way, and Al Wynn and Artur Davis look like good candidates to turn Rethug. Same for Melissa Bean, too, and Nancy Pelosi. Hillary Clinton's already all but returned to her Rethug roots - c'mon Al Gore, please neutralize girlfriend and run in '08, with Russ Feingold as your running mate, because Barack Obama ain't ready yet.

All of which is going to cause a Civil War within the Democratic party, but perhaps it's necessary if the party is going to return to it's core values.

Yeah, I'm kind of rooting for Gore to run again too.

But Barack has pretty much gone DLC, with his endorsement of Lieberman. Sad to say, I did kind of see that coming - I don't think he's ever going to be ready to stand by Gore yet.
