After the Ned Lamont victory over Joseph Lieberman the GOP swiftboaters are out in full force and here are there talking points 1) This is proof that the "extremist" left wing of the Democratic party has taken over 2) Joseph Lieberman has been the victim of anti-semitism 3) Someone has been hacking into Lieberman's computers. When a clear majority of the American people oppose the war how can Lamont be considered "extremist"? These ideas have been seen or heard all over the country. I wonder if these statements came from the Matt Drudge report.
In any event Ned Lamont is going to need help inside and outside Connecticut. The notoriously right wing New York Post eagerly published the results of a Rasmussen poll that showed Lieberman ahead of Lamont 46% to 41%. Those of us who support Lamont's candidacy are going to have to contribute time and money to Lamont so that we can have a "real" Democrat representing Connecticut in November

Yeah, I checked the Weekly Standard website a few days after the election, and found no fewer than five articles trying to paint the victory as meaning that Democrats were soft on terror.
