David Broder wrote an editorial in the Washington Post about a budget report that has been kept very secretive. This follows in the pattern that Republicans have been doing recently of trying to withhold pertinent information by dragging their feet during publishing.

So what's contained in this "Financial Report of the United States Government" document? Using better accounting procedures than those currently being used, it calculates our budget deficit this year as more than twice the previously published amount.

And how did we get here? Well, I can think of a military expenditure or two that we could have done without...
